Cat + Alex at Cibo

When I think about Cat and Alex’s wedding at Cibo Restaurant in Winnipeg, the first word that comes to mind is joyful. Despite the rain, the entire day was filled with so much energy, laughter, and heartfelt moments that it felt like the weather didn’t stand a chance of dampening anyone’s spirits.

Cibo is such a gem of a venue for a Winnipeg wedding — not only is the atmosphere inside warm and inviting, but it’s perfectly located near some beautiful photo spots. Right outside, you have lush greenery, the riverside, and even the iconic Canadian Museum for Human Rights as a stunning backdrop.

The rain kept us inside for most of the day, but when the sun peeked out for about fifteen minutes, we didn’t waste a second. We all dashed outside — Cat and Alex hand in hand — to capture a few quick portraits surrounded by fresh summer greens.

One of the things I loved most about this wedding was how unique and meaningful Cat and Alex’s love story is. They are an older couple whose families came together in the most beautiful way — their adult children are best friends, and that’s how Cat and Alex met. Seeing their kids standing beside them in the wedding party was incredibly touching. It felt like not just two people, but two families becoming one.

The reception at Cibo was everything you’d hope for — amazing food, lots of laughter, and an atmosphere that made everyone feel connected and relaxed. There were so many emotions throughout the day, from tears during the vows to the roar of laughter during the speeches. Cat and Alex’s wedding was a reminder that love stories don’t follow any timeline — they happen exactly when they’re meant to. Rain or shine, this day was proof that when you’re surrounded by people who love you, it’s always going to be perfect.

If you’re considering a wedding at Cibo, I highly recommend it — great food, warm vibes, and beautiful spots right outside for portraits. And if the weather throws you a curveball? Well, sometimes those unexpected moments turn into the sweetest memories.

Congratulations, Cat and Alex!
